James 1:1-8 (King James)

1.)James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.

2.) My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

3.) Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

4.) But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

5.) If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

6.) But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

7.) For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

8.) A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

James 1:1-8 (The Message)

1.) I, James, am a slave of God and the Master Jesus, writing to the twelve tribes scattered to Kingdom Come: Hello! Faith Under Pressure

2 -4.) Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don't try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.

5 -8.) If you don't know what you're doing, pray to the Father. He loves to help. You'll get his help, and won't be condescended to when you ask for it. Ask boldly, believingly, without a second thought. People who "worry their prayers" are like wind-whipped waves. Don't think you're going to get anything from the Master that way, adrift at sea, keeping all your options open.

Hi Julie~ I didn’t know where to post this so I chose uncategorized…
I’m responding to a comment you made of this site:
http://www.homesteadblogger.com/ the post was titled:
‘But they don’t do their chores properly’ You were wondering how to handle your daughters desiring to work with you and argueing about it…this is our solution:
My daughters are 18 months apart and the younger always wanted to do what the older is doing so I’ve made a chore schedule: We rotate every month, chore list “A” makes beds, vaccuums, dust and dries dishes, rides behind the drivers side of the back seat of the car, and helps cook on M-W-F. Chore list “B” cleans bathroom, mops and sweep kitchen floor, puts away dishes, empties trash, rides behind the passenger side in the back seat of the car and helps cook on Sun-T-Th we don’t cook on Shabbat. This is basically it, it has stopped alot of aruguing (sp) I was so frustrated with the bickering I would end up in tears because I tried everything…then I read somewhere to schedule chores and rotate the schedule including riding in the backseat of the car…my life has so much more peace now…I know you wrote your commment several months ago so I don’t even know if you have resolved this delima but if not I hope this helps and if so, I’m happy for you

** sometimes they still want to fight over chores and I ask them to get out their chore list…the bickering stops *grin*
