I've been tagged

I was tagged by Southern Savers to share seven things about myself.

These are the rules for tagging…

1) Link back to the person who tagged you and share the rules on your blog.

2) Share 7 facts about yourself

3) Tag seven people and list their links in your post

4) Tell those 7 people by commenting on their blog!

Here goes....7 facts about me...
  • I met my husband on a blind date 17 years ago when I was 17 years old.
  • I'm a stay at home mom to 4. I NEVER thought I'd be a stay at home mom, much less have 4 kids! Proof God plans our path, not us ;-)
  • Dinner time drives me crazy! The planning meals every day can be so difficult at times.
  • I love to bake but hate to clean up. Maybe I can ask for a maid for Christmas?
  • Right after Halloween, I start putting up Christmas decorations. "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas..."
  • I love to read in the bathtub at night after the kids have gone to bed.
  • I spend WAY too much time reading all the neat blogs out there.
Okay, so here's who I'm going to tag:

"God That Made the Ham"

Posted by: Julie in ,

Did your kids go to Vacation Bible School this year? Mine did and loved it. Our church chose Outrigger Island as their theme. Everyday the kids came home singing all the great songs they were learning.

My daughter "K" (5 yrs old) was singing one to me and I just busted out laughing when I realized what she was singing. The words are SUPPOSED to be...

"God of our fathers, God of Abraham..."
Her version was...
"God of our fathers, God that made the ham"....
Listen below to the song and just imagine her singing her version!!!
Kids, don't you just LOVE them?

3 - Rally Cola : (Sale Price) $0.75 each

3 lb bag of Gala Apples : $1.99

Total OOP: $14.91

Total Savings: $25.36

Want to know something COOL? I've been trying to get to Bi Lo all week and it just didn't work out. Tonight I was able to go, but I had limited funds. I knew there were things on my list that just were going to have to wait a while.

I grabbed the potatoes (the main item I wanted) and shot over to the frozen foods looking for the Green Giant veggies that were on sale when I realized I didn't have the coupons I would need. No biggie...I wasn't that interested in them anyway.

I turned around and saw the yogurt section behind me. There were coupons taped to TONS of the yogurts. Well, my kiddos only like the Dannon LE CREAM and guess what???? They had 3 of them with $0.50 Q's. WOO HOO!!!! I SOOO wanted to pick up yogurt for "D" and have just put it off. What a BLESSING!

I had taken $20 with me and my total was $14.91. My change was $5.09. As I was leaving the store on my way to get "A" at scouts, I remembered I needed to pay DUES this week. Want to know how much DUES are per month?

$5.00!!!!

I was able to pick up some great deals at the grocery and still have money for scouts. Wonder how that worked out like that? ;-)

Thank you, God, for caring about our needs

(big or small)

Th danish wasn't a super price, but my kids eat those for breakfast once a week, and the cheapest everyday price I can find is the WalMart brand at $1.58 each.

Bloom Triples Oct 11, 12 & 13

Are YOU ready to Shop Happy?
Thanks to Keren at Saving in Greenville I found out that Bloom is offering Triple Coupons this FRIDAY, SATURDAY and SUNDAY!
I'm beyond thrilled! I don't live overly close to a Bloom, but I'm going to get to one as fast as I can Friday morning. I drive to Hendersonville, NC to do Triple Coupons at Harris Teeter and I save SO much money! I'm sure I'll find some GREAT deals at Bloom, too!
This time around, Bloom has upped how many coupons per person and that makes for more profitable shopping. Here's the info....
  • Limit 20 coupons per customer

  • Triple coupons up to 99 cents

I've not had a chance to do a lot of coupon match ups but here is one GREAT deal I saw:

Campbells Chicken Noodle Soup or tomato 2/$1

There are $0.40 / 4 coupons in recent inserts

Triple that coupon and it will be $1.20 / 4

Buy 4 soups for $2.00 - $1.20 (tripled coupon) = $0.80 / 4

or $0.20 each!!!!

If you have a $0.50 coupon, it will be $1.50

If you have a $0.75 coupon, it will be $2.25

See how that savings can add up???

Don't get a Bloom? You can find it online at

KMart Double Coupons

Posted by: Julie in

I'm sure you bargain shoppers know about KMart having Super Double Coupons, right? If not, here's the deal....

Several KMart stores are having Super Double Coupons October 1 - October 5, 2008.

The specifics:

limits of 75 Qs per transaction and 4 like Qs per transaction

No overage will be given

Internet coupons or copies of manufacturer instant coupons are not valid

The big catch??? Not all of the KMart stores are doing it.

After reading about it and getting some advice at Money Saving Mom, I called the Customer Service Line. The CS Rep was very nice and called the stores in my area. None of them were included in Super Double Coupons this time BUT the Wade Hampton Blvd. KMart said they would do it. WOO HOO!!!

Mom and I made our way across town to see what kind of goodies we could pick up for cheap ;-)
