This week Bi Lo is having a really good sale. LOTS of BOGO's (buy one,get one free) and it was a great time to stock up on some items.
One very important thing about saving money and using coupons is stockpiling. Know your best prices for the items you buy and when a great deal comes along, stock up so the next time you need that item you can reach into your stockpile instead of running out and paying full price for said item. You will notice I bought 10 Eggo waffles. My every day best price is $1.68. I was able to get them for $0.82 per box. My kids love to eat these for breakfast. With 4 kids, 1 box can be gone in 1 day. This is worth stocking up on for us!

It gets better :-) Because I bought 10 Kellogg's items in one transaction, I can submit the receipt and UPC symbols for the Fuel for School Rebate and I'll get a $10 check back in the mail

Here is what I think:
Four blades - this razor gave the closest shave I can remember in a LONG time. The blades are incredibly thin and didn't tug on my legs as I pulled the razor.
e-z rinse - a really great feature. The razor didn't clog up as I used it and I was able to use one razor longer since it stayed so clean.
Flex and pivot - I LOVED this! Lots of razors say they have this feature, but I could actually feel it with the Bella razors. The blades would almost form to my leg as I used it. Fantastic!!
Soothing Strip - always a great feature. It helped the razor to glide across my legs with out pulling or tugging and left my legs extra smooth.
Curvy, comfy grip - another nice feature. I've never had trouble with razors sliding or being uncomfortable to use so this feature wasn't a "stand out" for me but the Bella razors are pretty and curvy just like a woman.

I found 3 books each for the older kids and 2 books for the litte boy.
Each book was $0.50 except for one hard back book for "K" and it was $1.00
I'm going to give each child one book for Valentine's and the other books will go into their Easter baskets.

Like so many this Christmas, we are looking to give nice gifts without breaking the bank. We have been blessed with a HUGE crop of pecans this year, so the kids and I have been gathering them up to give as gifts.
Somehow I think I am the one picking up all the pecans while the kids have all the fun ;-)
I think they call this "Pecan Soup" LOL!
This is a small portion of our crop. I picked up this bag of pecans yesterday afternoon. I estimate it to be 30 lbs of pecans! The pecans pictured are from one tree in our back yard. The tree is STILL full of pecans that have yet to fall. We also have 2 more trees in the front yard, but we haven't been able to pick those up yet.
There is NO WAY I could crack these by hand so I took them to the local roadside market and had them cracked for $0.30 per lb. The above picture is 60 lbs of pecans!!!
I've started the shelling process. We plan to fill up cellophane bags with pecan halves and tie them up with ribbon. We are going to pair up one bag of pecans with a bag full of Spritz cookies for a pretty, yummy, frugal gift.

Just A Girl has a great post about making frugal gifts for Christmas this year. There are SO many neat ideas linked to her post. I'm late, but here's my idea.
My mom LOVES Christmas ornaments! Every year the kids usually give her a new one to add to her tree. Last year I was looking for a frugal idea for a special, homemade ornament and came up with this idea. I didn't think this up, I found the idea on the internet, but I have NO idea where I found it.
I had some old green and red glass balls and some white paint. I painted my kids hands white and had them grip the ornament. This was a bit difficult with Daniel's as he was 6 months old at the time ;-)
After the paint dried, we painted on little eyes, mouths, scarfs and buttons to make snowmen.
I took more white paint and added the date and the name of the child whose hand was on the ornament. After all the paint was good and dry, I sprayed each ornament with clear acrylic to protect the paint.
Of course, I made a set for myself as well ;0)

Did your child recently get their report card? Did they make any "A's"? Then they can get FREE DONUTS from Krispy Kreme donuts.
For every "A" on their report card, they can get up to 6 original glazed donuts. All you have to do is bring in their report card! How simple is that?
I have 3 school age children. My 5 year old does not get a report card yet, but my older 2 received all "A's" so we're going to be heading over to Krispy Kreme for free donuts this week!
We did this with our last report card last year and we had a ball! We got 1 dozen free donuts, bought 2 milks to share (they are BIG) and enjoyed a fun, frugal snack! The kids were SO excited! I can't wait to do it this time.

Let me see if I can explain my soup deal.
The soup was on sale for $3.00 for 5 making them $0.60 each.
My coupon was $0.40 / 4.
I bought 24 cans of soup so I used 6 coupons.
Let's say you buy 4 cans at 0.60 each. That makes the total $2.40.
Now take that $0.40 / 4 coupon and triple it making it $1.20.
Subtract $1.20 from $2.40 and you now have paid $1.20 for 4 cans of soup or $0.30 each.
Does that make sense? It can be so hard to explain these deals online. Let me know if this helps!

At Harris Teeter, you can triple up t0 20 coupons per VIC card per day. You may use up to 3
like coupons. Like the soup, I could use 3 in one transcation and 3 in another transcation on a
different VIC card. I have a VIC card and my mother in law let me use her VIC card so I could
do the different transcations.
A local butcher in our area has several meat specials. Here is the flyer and what is included.
I decided to give it a try. I bought the Family Bundle for $19.95 This is what I got:
(1) 5 lb package of chicken leg quarters
(1) 1 lb package of stew meat
(1) 2 lb package of ground beef
(1) 1 lb package of cubed steak
(1) 1.5 lb package of pork chops
(1) 1 lb breakfast sausage
(1) 12 oz package market bacon
So, what do you think? Was it a good deal? Is it worth doing again? I don't know. I'm still thinking about it. Let me know your opinion!
